Lenses and Frames

Glasses Frames

The frames you wear can say a lot about your personality and lifestyle. Making the right selection can be daunting but we are here to help! The expert frame stylists and opticians at the Williamson Eye Center will guide you to find a perfect fit for your personal style and visual needs. We have a wide selection in each of our optical shops, and are always bringing in new brands and styles.

We are proud to offer quality products and great value, and many frames come with breakage warranties at no extra cost.

Glasses Lenses

At the Williamson Eye Center, we pride ourselves in offering the latest and greatest products within the industry. Not all lenses are created equal, and we feel it’s important to provide you with quality lens technology. Our experienced opticians are well-educated on the most advanced lenses and treatments available. We incorporate the latest techniques and technology to properly outfit the best pair of glasses for you.

Contact Lenses

The Williamson Eye Center offers many different options for contact lenses for your unique ocular needs. Your doctor will recommend the best lenses for you based on a complete eye examination and review of your visual needs both at work and play. Most people can wear more than one type of lens, so it’s important to know the choices available and the advantages (or disadvantages) of each.

Soft Contact Lenses

These lenses are comfortable to wear and are replaced monthly, weekly or daily depending on the type prescribed to you. Soft lenses are often recommended for sports and can promote confidence in those of us who do not like to wear glasses.  We are able to provide a correction for most prescriptions even if you have not been a good candidate in the past. We use the latest and best lenses for your vision correction.

Toric Contact Lenses

For small, moderate, and even some high amounts of astigmatism.

Multifocal Contact Lenses

For presbyopia, so you may not have to rely on reading glasses.

Daily Replacement Contact Lenses

For myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, and multifocal.  Daily contact lenses are the safest, most comfortable and most convenient of all lenses.

With the introduction of new materials and lens technology, patients find it easier than ever to wear soft lenses comfortably.

Rigid Gas-Permeable Lenses (RGP)

RGP Lenses offer sharp, precise vision and can provide a higher level of acuity based on your prescription. They may require a longer adaptation period compared to a soft lens, but RGPs are a more custom product with extended parameters, and therefore can be a good option for complex prescriptions or certain eye conditions like Keratoconus.

Scleral Lenses

The Williamson Eye Center is proud to have Louisiana’s only fellowship trained and certified expert scleral lens practitioner.  Scleral contacts are large-diameter gas-permeable contact lenses, specially designed to vault over the entire corneal surface and rest on the white area of your eye (the scleral). In doing so, scleral lenses functionally replace the irregular cornea with a perfectly smooth optical surface to correct vision problems caused by Keratoconus and other corneal irregularities.

In addition, the space between the cornea and the back surface of a scleral lens acts as a fluid reservoir to provide comfort for people with severe dry eye who otherwise could not tolerate contact lens wear.

Regardless of the type of contact lenses you wear, an annual eye exam is required to ensure continued good health for your eyes. It’s also important to know that prescriptions expire every 12 months.
